Attendance Policy

Attendance Policy
Effective Date: May 24, 2025

I. Purpose and Philosophy

At Steven and Hudson Playschool, we are committed to providing a consistent, enriching, and engaging learning environment for all our students. Our programs are designed to be highly interactive and progressive, with each session building upon the last. To maximize the benefits for every child and to ensure fair access to our limited class slots, we implement a strict attendance policy. This policy ensures that all students who are eager to participate and join their allocated time slot will be given access, fostering a dedicated and uninterrupted learning experience.

II. Scope

This policy applies to all students enrolled in any program or class at Steven and Hudson Playschool (Playgroup, ABA Therapy and/or Tutorials).

III. General Attendance Expectation

All enrolled students are expected to attend every scheduled playschool session. Regular and punctual attendance is crucial for a child’s continuous development, social integration, and full participation in our curriculum.

IV. Strict Absence Limit

Steven and Hudson Playschool maintains a strict attendance policy. *Absences are only allowed in cases of genuine emergencies, and a medical certificate is required to waive any session deductions.

Allowed number of Absences: None

No exceptions will be made according to the number of allowed absences. These are considered the total allowable non-attendances for the specified period.

V. Consequences of Exceeding the Absence Limit

The following actions will be taken:

  • Forfeiture of Slot: The student’s enrolment slot will be forfeited. This slot will then become available for other eager students on our waiting list.
  • No Refund: No refunds, partial or full, will be issued for any remaining sessions in the enrolment period.

VI. Absence Notification Procedure

Parents/guardians are required to notify the playschool administration of any anticipated absence at least 12 – 24 hours in advance whenever possible. In cases of sudden illness or emergency, notification must be given as early as possible on the day of the absence.

Notification Method: Please inform us via Viber 0917.322.1208 or email to ops@stevenandhudson.com

VII. Makeup Class

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may occasionally prevent them from attending a scheduled class. To support your child’s learning, we offer the opportunity for a makeup class, subject to the following conditions:

  • Availability: Makeup classes will be offered only upon availability. This means that alternative playgroup class schedules, including different days and times, will be presented to you based on current openings and teacher capacity.
  • Scheduling: You will be provided with available makeup class options. It is your responsibility as parent/guardian to select and confirm a makeup class within the provided timeframe. Unattended makeup classes will be forfeited.
  • No Guarantee: While we strive to accommodate makeup requests, we cannot guarantee a specific time, day, or instructor for makeup sessions due to the “upon availability” nature of this offering.
  • Strict Rule: Makeup classes for sessions missed due to regular holidays or cancellations by Steven and Hudson Admin (e.g., due to storms or tropical cyclone warnings) will be rescheduled based on available days and time slots. This policy is strictly enforced to ensure fairness and allow us to accommodate other families currently on the waiting list. Please note: Your child’s slot is reserved and will not be offered to others, unless the package has expired, been fully consumed, or placed on hold.

VIII. Student Vacations & Class Slot Availability

We understand that families may plan vacations, and we’re happy for your child to take that time off. For extended absences due to vacation, we have the following policy:

  • “Class on Hold” Permission: If your child will be on vacation for a period of time, please notify us in advance. We will grant permission for your child to take this vacation, and their enrollment will be considered “on hold” during this time.
  • Slot Reassignment: To ensure that all available slots in our playschool are utilized and to accommodate new families, please be aware that your child’s slot will be made available to new enrollees during their vacation period.
  • Re-enrollment Upon Return: When your child returns from vacation, we will do our best to re-enroll them in an available slot. However, we cannot guarantee the same day or time slot they had before their vacation, as their previous slot may have been filled by a new enrollee. We will work with you to find the next best available option for your child’s continued playschool experience.

IX. Parent/Guardian Agreement

By enrolling your child at Steven and Hudson Playschool, you, as the parent/guardian, acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these strict attendance guidelines. You understand that this policy is implemented to ensure fairness and optimal learning conditions for all enrolled students.

Your agreement signifies your commitment to these strict guidelines and the playschool’s operational needs.

For any questions or clarifications regarding this policy, please do not hesitate to contact the Steven and Hudson Playschool Administration.
